With a night stopover in Beijing, we fly into Lhasa- the capital city of Tibet. We spend the first three days, acclimating and exploring the major Buddhist monasteries, and ancient temples. In Lhasa, we pay visits to the Potala Palace, was the chief residence of the Dalai Lama until the 14th Dalai Lama fled to India, the Jokhang Monastery, the Barkhor market, Sera Monastery and Norbulingka Palace. And then we will travel to Tsedang- the gateway to the Yarlung Valley. In Tsedang, we explore Samye Monastery-the first Buddhist monastery of Tibet and Yumbulakhang Palace - the first Tibetan palace building. We will travel to Gyantse via Yangdrok lake. Explore Perkhor Chode Monastery. Next, we will travel to Shigatse. Explore Tashilhumpo Monastery. From Tibet, we have options to fly back to Beijing or other Chinese cities. Tibet-is a plateau region in Asia, north-east of the Himalayas in the People's Republic of China. It is the traditional homeland of the Tibetan people as well as some other ethnic groups such as Monpas, Qiang, and Lhobas, and is now also inhabited by considerable numbers of Han and Hui people.
